The New Inn is located in the classic, picturesque English village of Shalfleet in the west of the Isle of Wight between the county town of Newport and the famous seafaring town of Yarmouth. Situated close enough to the Wightlink ferry terminal in Yarmouth to make a visit to us a day trip from the mainland, the New Inn is a perfect first stop for quality dining after arriving on the ferry. Our food is strongly influenced by the amazing produce from our island including fantastic cheese, meat, game and of course fish and shellfish. We are also proud to serve locally made drinks from wonderful ales through to island distilled gins and vodka.

Nice to see this great dining pub open once again. Our Sunday lunch was superb, roast Sirloin with fresh vegetables and Mackerel fillets with a really tasty salad. Lovely food served by passionate staff, really wanting the customer experience to be great. Great venue for locals and tourists, we’ll be back very soon

Just what we needed!

We were visiting the island last week, called in the pub for a drink and browsed the menu. We couldnt not order! My boyfriend had the risotto and I had gluten free pasta! The waitress explained as the pasta is made fresh there is a slight wait. Ofcourse I didnt mind.. fresh gluten free pasta music to my ears. The meal was beautiful, the best meal we had while visiting the island! Highly recommend. If we visit the isle of wight again we will definitely be back!

Excellent spot for food, or a refreshing drink outside in the beer garden!

Had an excellent Sunday lunch experience at the newly re-opened New Inn. The interior decoration looked great, it had a lovely atmosphere and the food/service was spot-on. The menu for food and drinks had a good variety, and my main course and desert were delicious. There were some great special offers for dining too. Look forward to returning soon – keep up the good work 🙂

Fabulous seafood

Out celebrating good things in life with my sister in law… and the seafood royale was just superb. So lovely to have the ‘old’ New Inn back, with a great team.

Get together

First time at this recently reopened public house. Really liked the character of the place and welcoming staff. Had drinks and evening meal and we were all very impressed with the quality of the food. Only visiting the island but will surely make an effort to visit the pub again and would definately reccomend the cuisine. Lamb shepherd pie delicious. Steaks were all commented on as being melt in your mouth.

Lovely Lunch

Popped in with my mum for a quick lunch today. We both really enjoyed our meal and also had a tasty cheesecake each after. So good to see the ‘old’ new inn is well and truly back.

Wonderful food, staff, ambience. It has the lot!

We are sailors and brought our boat to Newtown Creek for a few days. We could only see one pub within rowing distance of our anchorage so early this morning we arrived at Shalfleet Quay. After a walk to whet the appetite we arrived at The New Inn at midday. What a treat this pub is. Traditional on the outside, warm and cosy on the interior with a spacious outside decked area to enjoy the summer beers/wine.  We ordered the risotto from the main and lobster from the special menus. Both were superb. Coupled with the friendly service and lovely decor both inside and out, we would not hesitate to come back and would recommend to everyone.

Positioned less than a mile stroll from Shalfleet quay and the Newtown estuary, we have a large decked patio area where you can relax and dine from our fantastic menu.
